Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (Matthew 5:8 NRSV)

We use soap to make us clean, right? Well, did you know that hundreds of years ago, people made soap out of grease and ashes? Grease and ashes! That sounds pretty dirty, doesn't it? Grease is dirty, and ashes are dirty, but mix them together with some other stuff, and you make soap, which is clean. All you do is take a bar of soap and some water and you can wash away any dirt on your body. At least, you can wash the outside of you.

But how can you wash the inside of you? The Bible says that we are all sinners, that inside we are all dirty with sin. But there's a way to wash our inside. We be clean spiritually by inviting Jesus Christ into our hearts. The Bible says that Jesus died for our sins, and, when we accept him into our hearts and live for him, we are made clean. Once you've have made Jesus Christ your savior, you are a brand new person in Christ Jesus.

Dear Jesus, come into my heart today and make me clean before our father in heaven. In your name I pray, Amen.
